This window displays the System Settings window (The Master Whistle Settings).

The settings are broken up into tab pages accessible by using the function key (F1, F2, etc.) or its alternate, Ctrl-F and the corresponding page number (eg Ctrl-F, 2). Some of the settings may be on different tabs, depending on the system and the version of Whistle that is being used.

The settings are as follows :

DB Name - inputfield
This setting takes the Database Name.
DB User - inputfield
This setting takes the Database Username assigned to Whistle.
DB Pass - inputfield
This setting takes the Database Password assigned to the DB User.
DB Type - scrollfield
This setting declares the Database type (Sql Server or Informix).
Debug - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will run in debug mode.
Use Tasking - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will use tasking functionality.
Use DayCode - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will use DayCodes where appropriate.
Use MQ - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will use MQ messaging where appropriate.
Turn off over full pallet warning - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will turn off the over-full pallet warning message boxes.
Adage Version - scrollfield
This setting is to declare the ERP system type and version.
Use Adage Lots - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will use Adage ERP lots in conjunction with Whistle lot tracking.
Rollback transaction if print fails? - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will rollback database transactions should a related print request fail.
Mailserver IP - inputfield
This setting takes a mailserver IP address for outgoing mail messages.
WSL Server IP - inputfield
This setting takes the Whistle Server IP address for connectivity.
PrintServer IP - inputfield
This setting takes the printserver IP address for outgoing print requests.
ATF Path - inputfield
This setting takes the file path for outbound middle-ware transaction files.
Handheld Lines - inputfield
This setting takes the line-number maximum for handheld displays.
Handheld Columns - inputfield
This setting takes the column-number maximum for handheld displays.
Turn off over full pallet warning - checkbox
When this option is turned on, the messages warning about an over full pallet will be prevented from displaying.
Hard Hold Location - inputfield
This setting takes an ERP stock location for the corresponding Hard Holds in Whistle. This is usually a non-nettable stock location where inventory is specifically moved when hard holding inventory.
Move to Deleted bin instead of purge - checkbox
With this option turned on, container pallets that are quashed are moved to the “deleted” bin instead of being permanently purged from the container record tables.
Num. of Report Prod Tab Fields - inputfield
This setting takes the number of report production tab fields the users want available.
Auto fill-in origin bin - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will auto-fill the bin location of all tracking numbers input by the user instead of requiring their entry for verification.
Ultralite track# - inputfield
This setting is the starting value for the Ultralite tracking numbers to be used in conjunction with Ultralite functionality.
Do IBP interfaces - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will send ASN’s to IBP customers.
IBP Path - inputfield
This setting is the file path location for outbound IBP customer ASN’s to be placed in.
Cache Server IP - inputfield
This setting is the location for the cache server IP address. Typically this is set to “local”.
AutoFind Untracked Lot - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will auto-find lot numbers of untracked item when appropriate.
Do TARGET interfaces - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will send ASN’s to Target customers.
Target Path - inputfield
This setting is the file path location for outbound Target customer ASN’s to be placed in.
Allow user to overfill bin - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will allow the overfilling of a bin volume.
Check lot codes on loading - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will activate a lot specification matching system prior to making Loads. This feature requires setup.
Num. of Issue Prod Tab Fields - inputfield
This setting is the number of tab screen fields available for the Production Issue window.
Warn on overfill bin - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will warn the user with a message box when a bin is about to be overfilled.
Empty bins on picking - checked
With this option turned on, Whistle’s picking logic will prefer empty bins over FIFO (First in First out) bins.
No Lowercase - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will not allow the use of lower case entries.
OutsourcedProdPlant - inputfield
This setting, if filled, will trigger a new menu selection called “Outsourced Prod” which appears on the Production Menu. The Outsourced Production window operates similarly to the standard Report Production window, however, the production transaction that is committed takes place in the context of the plant that is specified as the OutsourceProdPlant with the output becoming inventory in the users local plant. Example : Back-flushing will occur in Plant 2, but the new pallet will be in Plant 1.
Adaptive Binfield checkdigit - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will print half of a bin label with a check-digit, half without.
Case Pick - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will turn on the case picking functionality.
Days To Keep Log - inputfield
This setting is used to specify the length of days to keep log file entries before being trimmed.
Prefer Put Empty Single - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle’s picking logic will prefer an empty bin over an otherwise optimal location.
Ignore pallet qty on putaway - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle’s putaway logic will not prefer to put away a partial pallet (non-full pallet) in a bin that normally only holds a single pallet.
Intra-container print delay - inputfield
This setting holds the value in milliseconds to delay a print action based on some printer’s individual needs.
Allow decimal qty for all uoms - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will allow decimal quantities to be used for all UOM conversions.
Auto save screens for user - checkbox
With this option turned on, Whistle will auto-save screen data for each user.
Auto span SO lines for identical items - checkbox
With this setting turned on, Whistle will split the loaded quantity between two same product sales order lines. Otherwise, all quantity will go to the first order line for the product.
Settings Password - inputfield
This setting is used to specify the password for all settings windows.
IsUltra - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, Ultra is enabled.
Ultra
track# - textfield: This setting is the starting value for adding new tracks when Ultra is running. The default value is 1000.
UltraCounter - textfield
When Ultra is running, this is used as the counter, since the database cannot be accessed to find the counter variable stored there. Default is "0".
UltraRetryMin - textfield
When Ultra is running, this value is how often Ultra attempts to reconnect to the database, in minutes. Default is "5".
Num. of Receive Tab Fields - textfield
This is the number of tabbed windows that will be on the Receiving Window. In Handheld mode, the maximum currently allowed is 4. In Forktruck mode, the maximum currently allowed is 9. The default value of this setting is 1.
Num. of Shipping Tab Fields - textfield
This is the number of tabbed windows that will be on the Shipping Window. In Handheld mode, the maximum currently allowed is 4. In Forktruck mode, the maximum currently allowed is 9. The default value of this setting is 1.
X12 Compliant ASN - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, the ASN Flatfile is returned with EDI X12 Compliant data.
XML Path - textfield
This setting is the path for the XML files generated by Ultra.

When this setting is turned on, the tabs on the Report Production window will display with letters instead of numbers. The Function keys (F1-F9) are still used to access the tabbed windows.

When this setting is turned on, the tabs on the Shipping window will display with letters instead of numbers. The Function keys (F1-F9) are still used to access the tabbed windows.
Use whistle load planner - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, Whistle will look for any loads that were set up in Whistle, as well as the ones set up in Adage. The default for this checkbox is on.

Include plant in security lookup - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, the plant column is used as a parameter in setting up the SQL call to find the user permissions for the logged on user.
Print label history - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, an entry will be made to the wms_lothist_tbl table when a label is printed.
Use ERP lot mfg date as proddate - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, Whistle will look in Adage to find the lot manufacturing date, and will use that date as the production date.
Scan Detection - max intra character delay (ms)- textfield
This setting is used for determining whether a track # value was manually entered or scanned. The determination is made based on the amount of time it takes from when the entry of the track # is started and when it is completed. Scanned will be faster than manually typed. This is the maximum time field. The default value is 90.
Scan Detection - min intra character delay (ms) textfield
This setting is used for determining whether a track # value was manually entered or scanned. The determination is made based on the amount of time it takes from when the entry of the track # is started and when it is completed. Scanned will be faster than manually typed. This is the minimum time field. The default value is 5.
Default SSCC manufacturers name - textfield
The entry in this field will default to the SSCC manufacturers name field.
Default SSCC manufacturers code - textfield
The entry in this field will default to the SSCC manufacturers code field.
Disable Auto Hold - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, the AUTO HOLD feature will not be used.
Enforce case sensitive user names - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, the database statement used to find the user information in the database will be case sensitive.
Delete untracked items when deallocated - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, any untracked items will be deleted when they are deallocated from an order.
Allow move and putaway from WIP type bin - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, Whistle will allow move and putaway transactions from WIP type bin. Normally, this is not permitted.
Enforce item mixing in bins - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, Whistle checks the current bin to see if it allows a mixture of items to be put in it.
Use Warehouse Level Window Settings - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, Whistle allows the set up of window settings at the warehouse level, instead of the user level.
Left and right equals up and down - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, the left arrow key works like the up arrow key, and the right arrow key works like the down arrow key.
Rotate inventory on prod or mfg date - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, Whistle will use the production date, rather than the pull date, when searching for inventory.
Use Tran Date for Adage 4.5 TEE - checkbox
for Adage 4.5, the transaction date will be used in the TEE files.
Parse case number from UCC128 AI21 starting at position - textfield
The value in this field determines the starting position in the label for the case number. The default value is 3.
Max UCC128 AI21 length - textfield
This is the maximum length for the UCC128 AI 21 field. The default value is 20.
Auto-receive WTs to Specific Warehouses - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, the Warehouse Transfer that is being shipped will automatically be received at the destination warehouse. The Receiving transaction will automatically run at the end of the shipping transaction, without the user having to do anything.
Print Pallet Manifest report - checkbox
This will print the Pallet Manifest report.
Intermediate staging bin - textfield
This is the bin to be used as a holding area during the Staging process. The default value is FORKTRUCK.
Don't look for pallets in the intermediate staging bin - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, any pallets that are in the bin designated as the Intermediate Staging Bin will not be considered when finding inventory to stage.
Transaction logging level 0-5 - textfield
Default value is 0.
Do not use cache - checkbox
If this setting is on, get all settings from the database rather than the cache.
Use flat menu structure - checkbox
If this setting is ON, make one long menu rather than having submenus.
Use letters as tabbed window titles for palletize flow - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, the tabs on the Palletize Flow window will display with letters instead of numbers.
Num. of Palletize Flow Tab Fields - inputfield
This setting takes the number of palletize flow tab fields the users want available. Default is 9 for Forktruck mode, 4 for Handheld.
Default Pallet for Palletize Flow - textfield
This is the pallet that will be loaded when the Palletize Flow window is opened. The Function keys (F1-F9) are used to access the tabbed windows.
Default TEMP bin location - textfield
This is the location that will be used for all created TEMP bins.
Max number of labels to print - textfield
This is the maximum number of labels a user will be allowed to print at one time. The default value is 2.
Average Weight UOM - textfield
This is the unit of measure for the average weight value. The default value is "CS".
Derive the lot number as PPYJJJHHSSSS - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, the lot value will be created in this pattern, where PP - plant, Y - last digit of production year, JJJ - julian day, HH - hour, SSSS - user entered sequence (zero padded).
Filter Reason Code by WHS Key - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, the only reason codes used will be the ones set up for the current warehouse.
Use Crystal Reports for BOL Report - checkbox
When this setting is on, the BOL Report will be printed using Crystal Reports, rather than through Whistle. Warning, be sure to set up Crystal Reports before turning this setting on.
Use Crystal Reports for Pre-Print BOL Report - checkbox
When this setting is on, the Pre-Print BOL Report will be printed using Crystal Reports, rather than through Whistle. Warning, be sure to set up Crystal Reports
BOL Report name - textfield
This field holds the name of the file containing the BOL report.
Preprint BOL Report name - textfield
This field holds the name of the file containing the Preprint BOL report.
Use Adage Lot Creation - checkbox
When this setting is on, create lots in Infor by creating and processing a Lot TEE file.
Use Long File Names for TEE files - checkbox
When this setting is on, create the TEE file names using the current warehouse and current time in addition to the regular name elements.
Use Long Transaction ID for TEE files - checkbox
When this setting is on, create the TEE file transaction ID using the current warehouse and time in addition to the regular name elements.
Leave Lot Text Blank - checkbox
Currently unused.
Require lot sequence for derived lot to be four digits long - checkbox
This is used in conjunction with the 'Derive the lot number as PPYJJJHHSSSS' setting. When this setting is on, it requires that the sequence part of the lot number is four digits long. It will be zero padded if needed.
Use Label Management System - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, label printing will be done through the Whistle Label Management System.
Use Stored Label Management IDs - checkbox
Use the label ID stored in the container header record rather than what is cached.
Check Catchweight records - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, catchweight records will be verified to exist and be properly set up before being used.
Use Access Control Lists - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, the Access Control system will be used.
Generate Misc Receipt for Lost Inventory - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, if a user tries to use inventory that Whistle records show to be in the LOST bin, a Misc Receipt will automatically generate and process to return the inventory to availability before it is used.
Use ERP Allocation Tables for Demand - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, use the ERP allocation tables to get the demand information, instead of the Whistle demand tables.
Use Alternate Barcode Transaction Report To Location - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, use a different TEE transaction to report production.
Get Load Key from wms_outint_tbl - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, it will retrieve the Load key from the interface table, if it is not expressly entered in the window. This will ensure that a Load key will exist for the transaction. This setting is part of the Infor Pick/De-pick/Load process.
Derive Lot Number - checkbox
When this setting is turned on, the user will be able to derive a lot number based on a formula that they will select (in the window settings for Report Production windows).
QC Tolerances at the Item Lot Level - checkbox
This setting controls where to get the max and min values for the QC tests. When it is turned on, it uses the en_itqct_tbl instead of the en_qcmst_tbl.
Hide ~Whistle on Loadplans - checkbox
Where the load plans are displayed, do not show ~Whistle (concatenated to the load plan).
Require single QC Spec passed per lot - checkbox
This QC setting requires that at least 1 specification attached to a lot has been passed.
Use alternate id field in in_sublot_tbl table - checkbox
Defaulted to ON. Use the alternate id in place of the sublot id when creating the TEE file.
Generate TEE sublots only if item is sublot - checkbox
Defaulted to ON. Only create the sublot portion of the TEE files if the item is set up as sublotted.
Set required user parameters based on item/pack - checkbox
TEE User - textfield
Default to blank.
Do Whistle Backflush - checkbox
Enables backflushing logic and causes Whistle GT to interface with Whistle GX Server.
Generate ASN XML - checkbox
Generates the ASN as an XML file if set.
Generate ASN XML Hierarchical Levels - checkbox
Generates the ASN using hierarchical levels if set.
