To install Coolearth webservices, first install Windows 2008 Server R2 with Service Pack 2.
Add the Web Server role, and configure the role services as follows:
Web Server (IIS) Common HTTP Features Static Content Default Document Directory Browsing HTTP Errors Application Development . ASP.NET NET Extensibility ISAPI Extensions ISAPI Filters Health and Diagnostics HTTP Logging Request Monitor Security Basic Authentication Windows Authentication Digest Authentication Request Filtering Performance Static Content Compression Management Tools Management Console Management Scripts and Tools Management Service IIS 6 Management Compatibility IIS 6 Metabase Compatibility IIS 6 WMI Compatibility IIS 6 Scripting Tools IIS 6 Management Console WMI Compatibility Plot installed
Create a domain user with write privileges to the web application directory tree.
Deploy the service using the provided installer and provide the credentials to the installer when prompted. The installer will deposit the webservice in a predetermined directory located under the root for the Default Web Site and assign it to an app pool, which it will likewise create.
