Hardware & Software Requirements

Server Hardware

Application Servers

• Single Server Deployment - No redundancy or fail-over capabilities.
• Dual Server Deployment - Redundancy and fail-over capable.
• Multi-Server Deployment - Redundancy, fail-over and localized footprint capable.
• Web-Capable Server Deployment - Recommend a separate, Linux-based Web Server for client connections.
• Server requirements:
  • Memory : 4GB Minimum
  • Number of Processors : 2 Minimum
  • Processor Speed : x86: 1.0 GHz Minimum
  • x64: 1.4 GHz Minimum
  • OS : Windows Server 2008 R2 or above.
  • Harddisk : 100GB Minimum
  • .NET : v.4.5 or greater
  • Virtualization : Coolearth QC Results will run in a virtual environment.

Database Servers

• Microsoft SQL Server 2008 or above.
• Recommend a single database instance for deployment operations.
• A Multi-Server deployment strategy can take advantage of a distributed database replication model for localized footprints at the plant level if this level of operation is desired.

Web-Based Servers

• Recommend Linux Server for Meteor/MongoDB Client interface, although Windows installation is an option.
• Server requirements:
  • Memory : 4GB Minimum
  • Number of Processors : 2 Minimum
  • Processor Speed : x86: 1.0 GHz Minimum
  • x64: 1.4 GHz Minimum
  • OS : Windows Server 2008 R2 or above with IIS installed, or current Linux build.
  • Harddisk : 100GB Minimum

Client Hardware

Kiosks and Desktops

Typical Desktop installations are adequate for running the QC Results client.

• Monitor resolution and graphical display : Minimum 1024x768
• Harddisk : 2GB
• Windows XP or greater
• .NET v4.5 or greater

Mobile Devices, Tablets, Scan Guns

• Window Mobile 6.x (or)
• Mobile Device capable of using RDP or Citrix Client

Web-based Clients

• Mobile, tablet or desktop
• Browser capable. Chrome recommended, but will work on HTML5 compliant browser applications.
• Client application(s) are available with a pre-packaged Chrome engine for stand-alone use.
